Coming from an education in chemistry and sculpture, she has focused herself on making strange whimiscal clay creatures. She works on exploring the colors natural to the clay and the finishing process of woodfire, and strives to present creatures that equally mix whimsy, mischief, and threat.
If I could I would buy pretty much everything this woman has ever created.
In 2004 he launched ‘The Inner Spirit Collection’ of hand crafted life size wire sculptures, which has continued to grow in size and content. Described as beyond beautiful, stunning & spirirual, Derek’s work has gained recognition and respect for its intricacy and detail, receiving commissions from clients such as Tim Green of the Tate Gallery, Lord Ethan Stewart and the Actor Nicolas Cage.
This is only small part of my underwater work at the White Sea Biological Station. When I went underwater for the first time I was absolutely shocked. White Sea showed me another world with it’s own aliens, and some of them were really amazing creatures. And… here they are:

Pooled Oil Paintings by Matthew Davis
Berlin-based artist Matthew Davis creates these surreal images by using his brush to slowly drip oil paints into small pools. After each color dries over a period of several days a new layer is added resulting in a dense, multi-dimensional surface.
